3. Hull City vs Chelsea

The Tigers have had a torrid September after recording consecutive loses to Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool, another defeat against Chelsea will send them further down the table.

4. Real Madrid vs Eibar

Forget Recession! Here are 5 Effective Ways to Turn Your Startup Plan into Reality

Converting a raw startup idea into reality is an enormous task. The onus is on you to ensure that the idea comes to a fruition notwithstanding the circumstances. This is perhaps why some Nigerians are scared to the bone about floating a startup. It is even more discouraging as Nigeria is currently experiencing a recession whose end is unknown.

Evidently, ideas will be abandoned due to these challenges.
Despite all these woes, it is essential for you to take action on your idea as you will be thrilled about running your own business and secure your financial future. Hence, Jumia Travel shares some ideas on how to convert your startup in this economic recession.

Believe in Yourself
A bit of motivation will really do you some good. You cannot do anything if you do not believe in yourself. Believe that when you take the risk of initiating an idea, it will work out. And if it doesn’t work, you will not give up and be able to accept the consequences of your actions.

Make risk your best friend
Not taking a risk is a risk itself. And the fact is, it is very risky to float a startup in Nigeria due to the recession. But, a risk is part of life. You have to take risk by venturing into the unknown. You work hard and be committed to your business. Don’t expect a smooth ride.

Be extremely patient
If you are impatient, it will be very challenging for you to move ahead with your idea. This is because any little hiccup will leave you distraught. You shouldn’t expect to invest today and start getting returns immediately.

Learn to sell your idea
Few people are willing to part with their money in this recession. Except your idea is sterling and you can ensure that other people fathom your vision, it will not be difficult to get investors. A major mistake that some budding entrepreneurs who have lofty ideas make are that they cannot sell their idea and how to achieve financial results.

Always improve the idea
Ideas are dynamic not static. So, you shouldn’t be laid back because you believe your idea is impregnable. But don’t be too confident. You should keep improving and expanding your ideas.

A management expert, Dr. Peter Kwembe, has assured that Nigerians would celebrate President Muhammadu Buhari by second quarter of next year if they give his economic policy a chance to survive.
Kwembe, who expressed optimism that there would be light at the end of the tunnel, advised Nigerians to stop pressurizing President Buhari to dismiss his policies of economic diversification.

RECESSION: Housewife Loses Pot of Jollof Rice To Stranger

A middle-aged woman identified as Agnes on Sunday in Abakaliki lost the pot of rice she was cooking to thieves.
A NAN correspondent who visited Agnes’s residence behind Nnodo Secondary School, Amike-Aba on Monday reports that she was still in shock over the incident.
It took repeated appeals by the correspondent to make Agnes talk, as she maintained that her husband hhad barred her from speaking further on the issue to avoid negative attention to the family.

She said
“I came back from a village-meeting late on Sunday and put the rice on fire so that my family could have their dinner and eat the remnant on Monday morning.
“This apartment, as you can see, has no kitchen so we cook in the space in front of the house, likewise other occupants of the building,” she said.
Agnes said that as she went inside her room to fetch some condiments, she was delayed by the attention she had to give to her crying child.

“I gave attention to my child who was crying and by the time I came out to continue cooking, the pot of rice had vanished, with the stove still enkindled.“After I recovered from the shock, I started screaming which attracted my husband, family members and neighbours who were all as stupefied.
“When it was established that no occupant of the building took the pot, it dawned on us that the act was perpetrated by a thief who exploited the vulnerability of the improvised kitchen,” she said.
The woman declined further comments but her neigbour, Justin Mbam-Egbe, noted that the situation had re-awakened security consciousness among the occupants of the house.

A private security consultant in Abakaliki, Dr John Odikwa, blamed such incident on the current economic recession in the country.
“The country has degenerated to a level that people now steal pots of rice and soup and with the yuletide approaching, the society should be ready for serious security challenges.“The Federal Government should take immediate measures to alleviate the sufferings of the people to prevent total breakdown of law and order'' he said.

Xiao posted the bizarre video on Miaopai, China’s short-video sharing platform, with the inscription: ‘Fortune telling by touching the breast, this man is taking great advantage.’

In the short video, a bespectacled man was seen touching a woman’s breast. The man, who is believed to be a fortune teller, held a pair of crutches in the other hand. The woman can be seen staring at him with a puzzled face. The two of them had a lot of people gathered around them as the alleged fortune-telling was ongoing. However, there was no conversation between the fortune-teller and woman in the video.

Strange practice: The video is believed to be filmed in China and has been shared by a photographer to social media platform Miaopai
Many social media users thought the fortune-teller had gone too far. One user said on Weibo, a Twitter-like platform in China: ‘This is disgusting.’ While another sounded confused: ‘What happens if a man comes for fortune telling, will he still touch his breast?’

Ladies, would you allow your boobs to be touched just to know your future?

4 THINGS WE'VE LEARNT FROM MANCHESTER'S WIN OVER LEICESTER

Manchester United got back to winning ways in the Premier league with an emphatic 4 - 1 win over last season’s league champions, Leicester City .
It will make easy reading for United fans the world over after some dissident had been reported at the Old Trafford dressing room over Jose Mourinho ’s Methods.

Rooney’s Place Is On The Bench

Wayne Rooney might very well retire as a Manchester United legend but it is time to face the harsh truth that his time at the club should be spent on the bench .
He has looked subpar in every match he ’s started this season and Mourinho finally grew the balls to keep him on the bench for their encounter against Leicester

Leicester Need To Sort Out Their Defense

It is hard to explain or understand how Leicester went from conceding 36 goals last season to conceding 8 in their last two premier league games . Wes Morgan and Huth might have been top class last season but having conceded from three corners on Saturday , it really is time to reconsider their defensive options .

Rashford Has The Quality

Marcus Rashford might be young but there ’s no gainsaying his star quality . He put in yet another respectable shift on Saturday and perhaps should have buried Leicester beyond the four they scored . At this point , there ’s no real reason why he shouldn ’ t be starting every game .

No Fairytale for Leicester

Leicester City won the league last season in what can only be described as a fairytale of monumental proportions but it sure looks like there ’ll be no repeat of the fairytale .
With three defeats already this season, it really is hard to see the Foxes get into the top four . They might as well just focus on the UEFA Champions League !

"REPENT, AND RETURN TO THE ISLAMIC FAITH" Shekau tells Buhari

A new video has been released by the embattled leader of the dreaded Boko Haram sect, Abubakar Shekau.

Shekau, in a new 38 minute video which was posted on YouTube on Sunday, September 25, was seen talking about the Chibok girls.
In the new video he was seen holding a Qu’ran and book which he was reading from, sitting between two Islamist fighters armed with machine gun. He also advised the Muslims to follow the Qur’an.

Below are eight major things Shekau said in the video which was narrated in Hausa and Arabic:

1. Abubakar Shekau says he is still alive.

2. President Muhammadu Buhari should repent and seek forgiveness and return to the religion of Islaam.

3. Democratic government is for unbelievers and it is devilish.

4. He said it is a big lie that he was killed or wounded.

5. All the words in the national anthem are words of disbelief.

6. Bring back our girls will only be achieved if they bring back all Boko Haram insurgents who are in prison.

7. President Buhari should follow the Qur’an and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad.

8. Muslims have lost their way in Islam all in the name of being educated.

Buhari in TROUBLE as NLC, TUC, NUPENG, PENGASSAN, set to shut down Nigeria

– Organized labour including NLC, TUC, NUPENG, PENGASSAN said they are set for mass revolt, civil unrest worse than the anti-SAP riots of 1989 over the propose sale of nationals assets.

– Labour said it is ready to shut Nigeria over the planned sale, which they argued would not profit the nation but a few privileged Nigerians

President Buhari wants to sell major assets of the country to finance the 2016 budget
Should the President Muhammadu Buhari led FG proceed with its propose sale of nationals assets to fund the 2016 budget, organized labour including NLC, TUC, NUPENG, PENGASSAN said they are set for mass revolt, civil unrest worse than the anti-SAP riots of 1989.
The minister for Budget and Planning Minister, Udoma Udo Udoma however said the Federal Government would not sell critical national assets to shore up its foreign reserves as well as have funds to retool the economy against the current downward plunge.
However labour said it is ready to shut Nigeria over the planned sale, which they argued would not profit the nation but a few privileged Nigerians.

While reacting, PENGASSAN said; “Any attempt to sell these national assets will be met with stiff resistance from the Association, as PENGASSAN will galvanize every support, including that of our sister union and labour centres, to shut down this country by ensuring that every activity in the oil and gas sector is brought to a complete halt.

“Some opportunists in the cloak of businessmen and short-sighted politicians had earlier advocated the sale of public assets such as the NLNG, four state-owned refineries, Nigeria’s stakes in Africa Finance Corporation, AFC, the nation’s airports and reduction of government’s shares in upstream oil joint venture operations and this was approved by the National Economic Council, NEC.”
“The proponents of the sale of national assets are those who have been actively involved in the operations of the nation’s economy in the past. They were part of those responsible for the country’s current economic situation.
“Moreover, such sales in the past, including the power and steel sectors privatization, were just a shift from public to private monopoly which has further worsened those sectors. “It is, therefore, the candid position of PENGASSAN that such plan should be thrown into the trash bin. Government should continue to seek better ways to address the present economic challenges and reduce areas of wastages.”

On its part, NUPENG through its General Secretary, Mr. Joseph Ogbebor, said;
“We will resist the sale with all our might. It is not in the best interest of Nigerians. It will only compound the unemployment in the country. It will also compound the restiveness and agitation in the Niger Delta. There is no way we are going to accept it. If the President is really a patriot as claimed, he should not yield to the pressure because enemies of the country are at work.
“However, our organs will meet either as NUPENG or jointly with PENGASSAN to deal with it. Certainly, it is unacceptable, unpatriotic, anti-Nigeria and must be rejected and resisted by all. We call on Mr. President to declare a state of emergency on the economy and summon an all-encompassing stakeholders meeting to brainstorm on how the present economic challenges can be quickly addressed.
“NUPENG is of the view that Nigeria is a big market and certain measures should be put in place to reflate the economy so that it will be an investors’ destination.”

Also reacting, the TUC through its acting secretary general, Simeso Amachree said;
“We are not going to accept it and we will resist appropriately. As it was done before, it is an attempt to take over the national assets. “Like we stated earlier, the idea should be dropped or they will incur the wrath of workers. “It is our thinking that if those clamouring for the sales pay their appropriate taxes, there would be enough money to bring the country out of the woods without sacrificing our national assets.
“Truly, we appreciate the concern of some sincere people in government, especially President Muhammadu Buhari, who is working tirelessly to fix the economy. But we get worried when people suggest we sell investments like NLNG which provided the money for the bailout of states when they could not pay salaries or concession our airports. On what grounds? “The Congress will mobilise and resist any further sale or concession of our national assets under whatever guise.”
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s minister of finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, has revealed that she cannot predict when the country will out of the current economic recession.
